Designate at the Gate is a unique experience.

It is a cafe, a bar, a shop and an arts venue.

Browse the extensive array of all British, all hand made, crafts, many by local artists.  Or simply enjoy one of their delicious one pots, a "to die for" home made cake and a pot of coffee, artisan tea or something stronger.

Saturday's pancakes are not to be missed, followed by Jake's Lego Club and Maisy Makes for the children.

Theme nights include free films, music night, "sew need a drink" and young musicians.

For those hot summer days enjoy the quiet of the garden whilst the children play on the only beach in Matlock.
